CENTER FOR ACL RECOVERY
Unique ACL Treatment
Acute Phase
Feldman Physical Therapy & Performance is proud to offer the Hudson Valley’s only center for ACL recovery. We have developed a precise system to ensure that we can get you back to everything you were doing before your injury.
Our unique one on one treatment approach will ensure that you spend a full hour with your therapist at each visit. You will never work with aids or office staff. Each patient will be given access to an individualized app based exercise portal where your unique exercises and home plan will be stored. The will also give you access to your therapist as needed between visits.
Following rehab every patient is put through a rigorous return to play exam that will include:
- Range of Motion Testing
- Strength Testing
- Dynamic Movement Testing
- Jump Testing
- Running, Cutting, Change of Direction Testing
- Y-Balance Testing
- Dorsa Vi wearable sensor exam – this will help us ensure that both sides are functioning equally and allow us to measure any favoritism or lack of confidence in the surgical side.

Return to Play Evaluations
Currently the best predictor of a future injury is a past injury, this means a few things, people are not getting back to full 100% pre injury status following an injury, and sometimes they are returning to their sport or activity too soon.
We take all the guesswork out of when to return to play with our precise Return To Play Evaluations. We use a mixture of movement quality exams, and digital wearable sensor technology to know everything that is going on.
Testing Includes:
- Range of Motion Testing
- Strength Testing
- Dynamic Movement Testing
- Jump Testing
- Running, Cutting, Change of Direction Testing
- Y-Balance Testing
- Dorsa Vi wearable sensor exam – this will help us ensure that both sides are functioning equally and allow us to measure any favoritism or lack of confidence in the surgical side.
Did you do your rehab or PT somewhere else, no problem we would be happy to perform your Return To Play Evaluation

ACL Injury Prevention Programs
Feldman Physical Therapy & Performance is proud to offer the Hudson Valley’s only center for ACL recovery. We have developed a precise system to ensure that we can get you back to everything you were doing before your ACL injury. These injuries include ACL pain, ACL tears, and ACL sprains.
Our unique one on one treatment approach will ensure that you spend a full hour with your Doctor of Physical Therapy at each visit. You will never work with aids or office staff. Each patient will be given access to an individualized app-based exercise portal where your unique exercises and home plan will be stored. The will also give you access to your therapist as needed between visits.
Your ACL physical therapy post operative care at Feldman Physical Therapy & Performance will be done in three phases. The acute phase is focused on initially reducing pain and swelling while also building your range of motion. Strength exercises are incorporated to minimize muscle loss using Blood Flow Restriction Rehabilitation (BFR). We’ll also work to normalize your gait, removing bracing and crutches. Even though this is physical therapy for an ACL injury, your upper body will keep active in training to help speed your healing.
Next you will continue progressing strength in the strength building phase. Now is when we will introduce external weights and jogging.
In the third phase, you will be returning to the movements that are included in your daily and athletic routines. We will begin sport or activity specific drills and introduce cutting, jumping and changes of direction. Our physical therapists will work with your coaching staff to get you back to practice and team drills as appropriate.
We want to ensure that you return safely to your activities to avoid re-injury. So, following rehab, every patient goes through a rigorous return to play exam. This includes tests for range of motion, strength, dynamic movements, change of direction and Y-Balance. A Dorsa Vi wearable sensor exam will help us ensure that both sides are functioning equally and allow us to measure any favoritism or lack of confidence in the surgical side.
